The Air Force on Monday announced it has selected 1,855 first lieutenants for promotion to captain.
According to information released by the Air Force Personnel Center, all of the 575 pilots considered for promotion — including two above-the-zone pilots — were selected for promotion. Among navigators, 122 out of 125 eligible officers were selected, as were 43 out of 44 eligible air battle managers.
Among non-rated operations officers, 483 out of 487 officers were chosen, including four above-the-zone officers. And 517 mission support officers out of 524 eligible were selected for promotion. In all, 1,740 Line of the Air Force officers were selected for promotion.
AFPC also said that the Air Force selected 50 out of 52 eligible nurses and 39 out of 40 eligible Biomedical Sciences Corps first lieutenants. All three chaplains, 14 judge advocates general and nine Medical Service Corps officers who were considered were selected for promotion. Among those selectees included two above-the-zone nurses and one above-the-zone BSC officer.
