An Air Force Academy cadet accused of sexual assault and abusive sexual contact was found not guilty at a general court-martial Wednesday.
Cadet 1st Class Steven Fox, a senior at the academy, had been charged with two specifications in violation of Article 120 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The charges stemmed from a single alleged incident against a civilian that allegedly happened sometime between September and December 2015, according to a charge sheet provide by the academy.
Fox faced an Article 32 hearing in September that determined there was enough evidence to move forward with a trial, but the panel of seven officers at the court-martial who listened to the testimony and reviewed evidence determined Fox was not guilty of all charges and specifications, according to an academy news release.
The Uniform Code of Military Justice allows an accused member to choose whether their case is heard by a panel of officers or by a military judge, and Fox chose the panel of officers.
