Airstrikes against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria continued at a steady rate in February, while as<\/span> humanitarian airdrops in the region appear to have ended, according to new <\/span>statistics released this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Operation Inherent Resolve coalition in February dropped 1,756 bombs on targets in Iraq and Syria. In January, the coalition dropped 2,308 weapons in the fight, the most since the operation began with a low of 211 strikes August 2014<\/span>. The coalition has averaged 1,421 strikes monthly over seven months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since January So far this year<\/span>, coalition aircraft have flown 937 sorties with at least one bomb dropped.
