Eliction Chan, the 27-year-old enlisted executive officer of the 374th, was found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2018\/08\/14\/ellsworth-airmans-found-dead-in-home\/\" target=_blank>unresponsive at home<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2018\/09\/12\/airmen-dies-at-grand-forks-air-force-base\/\" target=_blank>pronounced dead<\/a> on Oct. 1, Yokota said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe lost a truly valued member of our team,\u201d Col. Otis Jones, commander of the 374th Airlift Wing, said in an Oct. 3 release identifying Chan. \u201cWe extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and wingmen impacted by this tragedy. In a Sept. 12 post on Facebook, Yokota said Chan started out at the base as the non-commissioned officer in charge of passenger travel. During that time, she led a seven-airman team to process 12 emergency leave requests, which allowed Defense Department personnel and their dependents to leave Japan within 24 hours. Her team\u2019s achievement was recognized when they received the First Sergeant\u2019s Sharp Diamond Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2013, the 62nd Airlift Wing at McChord Air Force Base also named her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcchord.af.mil\/News\/Photos\/igphoto\/2000061865\/\" target=_blank>Professional of the Week<\/a>.
