The pilot was able to eject to safety with only minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fighting Falcon, assigned to the 480th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Wing, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2019\/06\/12\/f-35as-deploy-to-spangdahlem\/\" target=_blank>Spangdahlem Air Base<\/a>, Germany, was conducting a routine training sortie when it crashed, according to the Air Force. Police said the plane came down in the Zemmer area, between the city of Trier and the base.
