As part of ongoing changes to the enlisted promotion system, the Air Force is closing out enlisted performance reports for all airmen of the same rank at the same time throughout the year \u2014 at the promotion eligibility cutoff date \u2014 instead of staggering EPRs throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That so-called static closeout date for regular Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve senior master sergeants is July 31, according to an Air Force Personnel Center reminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Active-duty senior master sergeants whose EPRs closed out before April 3 will get another EPR closing out July 31 that will cover performance during the months between their most recent EPR and July 31, AFPC said. For example, a senior master sergeant whose EPR closed out March 31 will get that EPR and another July 31 that will cover performance between April 1 and July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those whose EPRs would have closed out between April 3 and July 31, including those who sew on after April 3, will not get an EPR until July 31. And those whose EPRs would have closed out after July 31 will have their EPR closeout date moved to July 31. For Air Force Reserve senior master sergeants, this same process will begin in April 2016, but the new evaluation form will be mandatory beginning July 31, 2015. Senior master sergeant drill status Guardsmen, including technicians, will receive an initial evaluation for July 31, 2014, through July 31, 2016. Jan. 31 was the so-called static closeout date for staff sergeants, and March 31 for senior airmen and below. Here’s a reminder of the dates for other ranks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May 31: for chief master sergeants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sept. 30: for master sergeants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
