Col. Aaron Rivers, the group\u2019s deputy commander, is replacing Col. The service did not offer further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs this is an ongoing investigation, I can\u2019t provide any other comment,\u201d said Tom Mullican, Hill\u2019s public affairs director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Installing an insider as the unit\u2019s top officer marks a departure from the steps taken previously. Boring joined the 309th after serving as head of the 31st Maintenance Group commander at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/smr\/nato-air-power\/2020\/08\/13\/moving-us-f-16s-from-germany-will-ripple-far-outside-the-black-sea-region\/\" target=_blank>Italy\u2019s Aviano Air Base<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boring came to Hill last June to replace Col. Jay Johnson, 71st FTW\u2019s vice commander, has temporarily assumed command.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boring is now assigned as the special assistant to Brig. Gen. C. McCauley von Hoffman, who runs the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe has experience in bomber and [intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance] platforms, and has served in leadership positions for many aircraft we work on here at Ogden ALC,\u201d von Hoffman said of Boring at his change-of-command ceremony last year, according to an Air Force release. \u201cHe has graduated from and instructed at the Air Force\u2019s premiere maintenance and logistics training venue \u2014 Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Officer School.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of Ogden, one of the Air Force\u2019s main sustainment depots, the 309th is comprised of more than 2,000 employees across seven maintenance squadrons. The group handles repairs and long-term maintenance for multiple key airframes, including the F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter jets, A-10 attack plane, C-130 airlifter and T-38 training jet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Col.
