Ryan Marshall was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2019\/02\/08\/fired-wing-commander-who-reached-plea-deal-will-retire-as-major\/\" target=\"_blank\">fired from command<\/a> of the 621st Contingency Response Wing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maj. Gen. John Gordy, commander of the Air Force Expeditionary Center, relieved Marshall of command after he \u201clost confidence in Marshall\u2019s ability to continue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2018\/10\/05\/leadership-of-fear-fired-wing-commander-berated-ridiculed-terrified-staff-investigation-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\">serving in a leadership position<\/a> due to alleged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2018\/06\/28\/disgraced-ig-slams-afcent-one-star-for-inappropriate-relationship\/\" target=\"_blank\">conduct unbecoming an officer<\/a>,\u201d according to a release posted on the Expeditionary Center\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis decision was made in the best interest of the men and women serving in the 621st CRW,\u201d Gordy said in the release. \u201cI hold our leaders to the highest standard because that\u2019s what our Airmen deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wing\u2019s vice commander, Col. He assumed command of the wing in June 2018. He has received multiple decorations, including the Legion of Merit, one of the service\u2019s highest awards for meritorious conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 621st is responsible for \u201cadvising partner nations and joint partners; directing theater-wide command and control; and projecting mobility airpower around the globe for contingency and humanitarian operations,\u201d according to Marshall\u2019s biography.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maj.
