internet meme.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Associated Press photographer said it wasn\u2019t immediately clear if a woman who began ducking under a gate and a man who urinated nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2019\/09\/17\/dutchmen-arrested-for-trespassing-near-area-51-with-drone-camera-equipment-because-aliens\/\" target=\"_blank\">were arrested after the crowd<\/a> gathered about 3 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lee scheduled a media briefing later Friday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Millions of people had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2019\/09\/11\/storm-area-51-event-canceled-after-everyone-realizes-its-a-horrible-idea\/\" target=_blank>responded to a June internet post<\/a> calling for people to run into the remote U.S. Air Force test site that has long been the focus of UFO conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;They can&#8217;t stop all of us,&#8221; (AP Photo\/John Locher)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2019\/07\/17\/storming-area-51-internet-meme-or-an-actual-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\">military responded with stern warnings<\/a> that lethal force could be used if people entered the Nevada Test and Training Range, and local and state officials said arrests would be made if people tried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It&#8217;s public land,&#8221; the sheriff said. &#8220;They&#8217;re allowed to go to the gate, as long as they don&#8217;t cross the boundary.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A music group called Wily Savage erected a stage Thursday near the Little A\u2019Le\u2019Inn in Rachel and began playing after dark for several hundred campers who braved overnight temperatures of about 45 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel Martinez, 31, a Pokemon collectible cards dealer from Pomona, California, was among the first to whirl and dance at the dusty makeshift festival grounds \u2014 warm beneath a wolf &#8220;spirit hood&#8221; and matching faux fur jacket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHere\u2019s a big, open space for people to be,\u201d he said. \u201cOne person starts something and it infects everybody with positivity. Anything can happen if you give people a place to be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entertainment kicked off weekend events that also feature a gathering Friday and Saturday at the Alien Research Center souvenir store in Hiko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Owner George Harris said it would focus on music, movies and talks about extraterrestrial lore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities reported no serious incidents related to festivals scheduled until Sunday. When you tell people they can&#8217;t do something, they just want to do it more.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eric Holt, the Lincoln County emergency manager, said he believed authorities could handle 30,000 visitors at the two events. Still, neighbors braced for trouble after millions of people responded to the &#8220;Storm Area 51&#8221; Facebook post weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Those that know what to expect camping in the desert are going to have a good time,&#8221; said Joerg Arnu, a Rachel resident who can see the festival grounds from his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who show up in shorts and flip-flops will find no protection against &#8220;critters, snakes and scorpions.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It will get cold at night.
