U.S. soldiers are under investigation following the death of an Afghan commando<\/a> who was allegedly responsible for an insider attack in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The October attack claimed the life of a Czech soldier<\/a>, Cpl. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Proch\u00e1zka, who was serving with NATO\u2019s Resolute Support mission <\/a>to train and advise Afghan forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two other Czech soldiers were wounded<\/a> in the attack, which took place at Shindand air base in western Afghanistan\u2019s Herat province, according to a press release after the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The New York Times<\/a>, the attacker was arrested within hours by Afghan forces. They then transferred him to NATO custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he was returned to Afghan custody later that night, he had been severely beaten and was unconscious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He died a short time later, Afghan officials told The Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command confirmed to Army Times that it is conducting an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n
