John Campbell, head of U.S. Forces Afghanistan, is scheduled to brief House Armed Services Committee members Tuesday, less than a week after his presumed replacement (Army Lt. Gen. John Nicholson) had his confirmation hearing before senators. Campbell will discuss the security situation there, and plans to withdraw U.S. troops from the country in coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, Senate Armed Services Committee members will host the service secretaries to discuss plans to open combat roles to women, and how that change will be implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both of those committees also have rescheduled hearings from last week on their weekly business list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<u>Tuesday<\/u>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.armed-services.senate.gov\/hearings\/16-02-02-implementation-of-the-decision-to-open-all-ground-combat-units-to-women\"><u>Senate Armed Services<\/u><\/a> \u2014 9:30 a.m. \u2014 Dirksen G50<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Women in combat <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four service secretaries will appear before the committee to discuss the decision to open all ground combat units to women, and how that will be implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/armedservices.house.gov\/index.cfm\/hearings-display?ContentRecord_id=86720B99-631B-43F4-830B-3FC266645836&amp;ContentType_id=14F995B9-DFA5-407A-9D35-56CC7152A7ED&amp;Group_id=13e47ffa-0753-47a7-ad5e-1ba7592015c9\"><u>House Armed Services<\/u><\/a> \u2014 10 a.m. \u2014 Rayburn 2118<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afghanistan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. Forces Afghanistan commander Gen.
