Her dream has always been to join the Navy, and the service\u2019s recruiting office in Cleveland Heights, Ohio held a mock enlistment for her last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Tabitha\u2019s mother Melinda Nye, Tabitha was attracted to the Navy because of the service\u2019s planes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTabitha loved the Navy from the time she was little,\u201dNye, who served as a hospital corpsman in the Navy, told Military Times. \u201cHer dream from the age of 3 was to join the Navy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tabitha \u201cgoes to the Cleveland Air Show every year, It comes on her birthday weekend,\u201d Nye said, adding that Tabitha decided long ago that \u201cthey come just for her birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FUSNavy%2Fposts%2F10156373969882823&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"746\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" allow=\"encrypted-media\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Navy\u2019s recruiting office in Cleveland Heights confirmed to Military Times that the mock enlistment took place on June 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tabitha\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caringbridge.org\/public\/tabithanye?fbclid=IwAR1dY0RL8GPnUq-ZAcpX0OKx40LU5IByF2JOnvLQIVg2svlOE4Xf5hm5234\" target=_blank>CaringBridge website<\/a>, a social network designed to provide updates on a loved one\u2019s health journey, says doctors initially found swelling behind Tabitha\u2019s eyes when she was 5-years-old that required an emergency surgery to alleviate pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An MRI later revealed a tumor in her brain. A separate MRI in January indicated that the tumor was growing and she is prepared to start weekly intravenous chemotherapy that will last for 15
