(X)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthew Lohmeier, an under secretary of the Air Force, said on X that the decision was \u201clong overdue,\u201d and shared a post from a conservative legal group that was advocating for Babbitt\u2019s family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group, Judicial Watch, said the family had requested military honors from former President Joe Biden\u2019s administration and had been denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, a U.S. Air Force spokesperson said that \u201cafter reviewing the circumstances\u201d of Babbitt\u2019s death, military funeral honors were offered to the family. Babbitt was a senior airman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The post shared by Lohmeier included a link to a letter the Air Force under secretary wrote to Babbitt\u2019s family, inviting them to meet him at the Pentagon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAfter reviewing the circumstances of Ashli\u2019s death, and considering the information that has come forward since
