FORT RILEY, Kan. — A body found in a vehicle at the Fort Riley military base has been identified.
According to a news release from the Fort Riley public affairs office Wednesday, a woman found dead inside a vehicle Sept. 22 has been identified as 29-year-old Jessica Echevarria.
Officials say Echevarria was the wife of a soldier stationed at Fort Riley, who had reported her missing Aug. 21. According to authorities, a soldier walking along a road found the victim’s car in a wooded area and contacted military police.
The news release said the victim was involved in a single-vehicle accident when her car left the road and struck a tree.
The case remains under investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
