The long-running game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” will air a week of shows with only veterans on the hot seat, but not before two well-known service members get their chance to pocket their share of seven figures.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone and Oregon National Guard Spc. Alek Skarlatos will join Anthony Sadler to kick off the show’s “Hometown Heroes Week,” which begins airing Monday in national syndication. The trio made global headlines in 2015 when they stopped a suspected terrorist aboard a Paris-bound train.
The show was taped in July in Las Vegas; results are under close guard until it airs, but the show did say the trio’s appearance stretches over two episodes.
Beginning Nov. 7, more service members will take the stage with host Chris Harrison as part of “Victory for Veterans Week,” with the show donating $5,000 to Disabled American Veteransfor every contestant who reaches the $100,000 question.
Last year, the show hosted “Armed Forces Week,” featuring current and former service members.
