Col. Adam Jackson, an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USArmyReserve\/status\/1116423170167205888?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\">Army Reserve <\/a>spokesman, said in a statement to Army Times on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nelson, 44, died Monday, the AP reported, after weeks in a coma. His bone marrow was intended for an unidentified French teenager, whom he matched with last October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe deeply appreciate Derrick\u2019s willingness to step forward to donate, and we share our sympathies and condolences with his family,\u201d Dr. C.
