Col. David Feltwell, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/11\/01\/basic-trainees-are-maxing-the-new-fitness-test-now\/\">Center for Initial Military Training<\/a> physical therapist, in an Army <a href=\"https:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/231535\/acft_app_rolls_out_to_help_soldiers_get_fit_protect_their_data\" target=\"_blank\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The release said that the updated app will safeguard users\u2019 personal information, noting the recent Army ban on using TikTok \u2014 a popular Chinese social media app that drew scrutiny from lawmakers this fall \u2014 on government devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Individuals looking to download the updated app can search \u201cArmy PRT\u201d on Google Play, the Apple App Store and similar digital venues. Gen. Lonnie G. Hibbard, commander of CIMT, previously said. The ACFT<a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/09\/24\/slides-showing-high-failure-rates-on-new-fitness-test-are-not-official-cimt-documents-officials-say\/\"> <\/a>entered a service-wide test phase this October and will transition to the physical test of record in October 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Army recognizes the importance of creating a Physical Readiness Training app that gives soldier\u2019s another reference point to access anytime, anywhere,&#8221; Hibbard said in the release. \u201cSoldiers are our greatest asset, and we at CIMT kept their safety and Operational Security as our highest priority in developing this application.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The service also warned in the release about the risk of using third-party mobile apps, which may not safeguard user data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That risk is increased when by apps that ask for and reveal a soldiers\u2019 sensitive information, to include their job and base location. The updated app is approved by the Department of Defense and regularly tested to prevent malicious actors from gaining access, the release
