Kevin M. Russell is facing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2020\/07\/21\/data-shows-large-drop-in-armys-domestic-abuse-reports-during-pandemic\/\" target=_blank>sexual assault<\/a> charges at an Aug. 25 trial at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, according to the Army\u2019s trial judiciary docket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russell faces five counts of violating Article 120 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/01\/15\/heres-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-biggest-update-to-ucmj-in-decades\/\" target=_blank>Uniform Code of Military Justice<\/a>, the docket shows. He was arraigned in June and has pleaded not guilty, according to the records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charge sheets and who made the allegations against Russell are not releasable at this time, said Lt. Col. Loren Bymer, a spokesman for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2020\/01\/09\/army-spec-ops-boss-wont-reinstate-special-forces-tab-to-officer-pardoned-by-trump\/\" target=_blank>U.S. Army Special Operations Command<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Task and Purpose, which <a href=\"https:\/\/taskandpurpose.com\/news\/army-special-forces-sexual-assault-charges\" target=_blank>first reported<\/a> the charges, noted that Russell is a Special Forces-qualified officer who previously served with the 82nd Airborne Division and 7th Special Forces Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russell is currently on active duty assigned to USASOC, with duty at the overarching U.S. Special Operations Command, Bymer said in an email Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russell also served with U.S. Southern Command\u2019s Joint Task Force-Bravo until roughly a year ago, and as special operations liaison to U.S. Central Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A civilian attorney representing Russell, Michael Waddington, did not immediately return a request for comment placed at his offices on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs with any criminal allegation, Col.
