Lafavien Dixon, from the 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion at Fort Meade, Maryland, said he planned to wear out the old Improved Physical Fitness Uniform out of a \u201csense of nostalgia.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"apester-media\" data-media-id=\"59c42d63fe3b110001f07d49\" height=\"354\"><\/div><script async src=\"\/\/static.apester.com\/js\/sdk\/v2.0\/apester-javascript-sdk.min.js\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new Army Physical Fitness Uniform boasts 32 changes from the old uniform, from more high-performance, quick-dry fabrics to stretchy lining and small pockets for keys and IDs in the shorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link uniform. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project to change the PT uniform began in 2012 based on soldier complaints, the then- Soldier Protection and Individual Equipment project manager told Army Times back in 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among those concerns were lack of sizing for women, plus the pockets and lining that made their way into the APFU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army settled on the black-and-gold uniform after developing several prototypes that included black, gold and
