He will serve the other five on post-release supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valdez also was fined $2,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valdez and Aaron Dement were indicted in February by a Forrest County grand jury in the death of Army Spc. Holden K. Hughes, 23, of Brandon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valdez was indicted for first-degree murder, while Dement was indicted on accessory after the fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">District Attorney Patricia Burchell said Dement still was awaiting trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hughes was stabbed during a June 2 altercation outside Benny&#8217;s Boom Boom Room on Front Street in Hattiesburg and died later at a local hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hughes only recently had returned from service
