Guard gets new senior soldier"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span class=\"character dateline\">ALBANY, N.Y. \u2013 <\/span> The New York Army National Guard is getting a new senior soldier who serves as the top enlisted person in the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Command Sgt. Maj. Louis Wilson of Rochester takes over from Frank Wicks of West Sand Lake during a change of responsibility ceremony being held Friday afternoon at the National Guard&#8217;s Joint Force Headquarters in the Albany suburb of Latham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the senior noncommissioned officer in the Army National Guard, the state command sergeant major serves as the adjutant general&#8217;s personal adviser for all enlisted-related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wicks, a civilian employee of the New York State Police, is retiring after more than three years as command sergeant major.
