The zone of vulnerability for the Qualitative Service Program retention board that meets in February has been expanded to include some prominent combat arms specialties for sergeants first class of the Active Guard and Reserve (Army Reserve).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a major change from previously announced policy, Regular Army sergeants first class will not be screened by the QSP board that meets this winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The criteria and dates for the next RA sergeant first class Qualitative Service Board will be announced by Human Resources Command in a message to fields units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first QSP board to meet in 2015 will meet Feb. 10-March 6 in conjunction with the annual Regular Army and Active Guard and Reserve master sergeant promotion board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The retention screening for AGR sergeants first class will convene Feb. 10 as previously announced, and will focus on soldiers in overstrength specialties, and specialties that have limited promotion opportunity, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequent screenings for staff sergeants, master sergeants and sergeants major will meet later this year with the fiscal 2015 sergeant first class, sergeant major and command sergeant major selection boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The zone of consideration for the upcoming QSP board will include AGR sergeants first class with E-7 dates of rank of Feb. 11, 2011, and earlier, and basic active service dates of Feb. 10, 1990, and later, and who hold one of the following specialties as their primary MOS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 11B (infantryman)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 12B (combat engineer)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 12H (construction engineering supervisor)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 13B (cannon crewmember)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 19K (M1 tank crewmember)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 25U (signal support systems specialist)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 88K (watercraft operator)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 88U (railway operations crewmember)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 92A (automated logistics specialist)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 92M (mortuary affairs specialist).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soldiers in other MOSs will not be considered by the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The criteria announced Dec. 29 by the Human Resources Command modifies MOS guidance issued Oct. 22 in MilPer Message 14-313.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sergeants first class selected by the QSP board may be eligible to request reclassification as an exception to policy, if otherwise qualified for transfer to another MOS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
