John Andrew Stobbe, 31, was found unresponsive Sunday in his off-post residence in Killeen, Texas, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stobbe, who was from Beaverton, Oregon, joined the Army in September 2004. He was an M1 armor crewman; he had been assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, at Fort Hood, Texas, since June 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had deployed three times to Iraq \u2014 from December 2005 to November 2006, from June 2008 to May 2009, and from September 2010 to August 2011. Stobbe also deployed to South Korea from June 2015 to February 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His awards and decorations include one Joint Service Commendation Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, five Iraq Campaign Medals with campaign stars, and the Combat Action Badge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Army on Wednesday
