Two brigades from Fort Carson, Colorado, are on tap for a spring 2018 deployment to Afghanistan, the Army announced Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team and 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, will be part of a regular rotation in support of Operation Freedom\u2019s Sentinel, according to two releases from the Army\u2019s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division is trained and ready for any mission in the Army. Our formation of soldiers are fit, inspired, disciplined, and trained,\u201d Col. Mont\u00e9 L. Rone, commander of 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, said in a release. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t do this without our families and owe a special thanks for their willingness to stand by our most precious resource \u2015 The American Soldier.\u201d

Rone\u2019s brigade will replace 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, who have been in Afghanistan since September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division has a proud deployment history in support of operations in Afghanistan,\u201d said Col. David Zinn, commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, in a release. \u201cOur War Horse soldiers are trained, ready, and are honored that the Army has selected our unit for the deployment.\u201d
