MONTPELIER, Vt. \u2014 Forty Vermont National Guard members are heading to Massachusetts to help remove snow following record snowfall in that state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gov. Peter Shumlin spoke to Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and signed the order authorizing the deployment Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communities in Massachusetts are grappling with the impact of back-to-back-to-back storms in a more than two-week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vermont is also sending 12 dump trucks and other snow removal equipment along with the Guard members in the coming days. Massachusetts, which has requested help, is paying for the Guard mission, which is authorized for up to 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
