My husband and I picked the wrong Realtor for the first house we bought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, we thought we were making a good decision. We were in our early 20s, and we decided to contact the bank we trusted because we heard they had a program where we would receive cash back at closing<\/a> for working with a Realtor they selected. It seemed like an easy way forward: After all, they were going to do the legwork of making sure we were matched with a good agent, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not exactly. \u201cGood\u201d is a relative term when it comes to selecting a Realtor, and not every agent is the right fit for every client \u2026 and not every client is the right fit for every Realtor<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t know this at the time, though. I didn\u2019t realize that the demanding and hyper-analytical personality mix between me and my husband would be a terrible fit for the poor, unfortunate, relationship-oriented, people-pleasing agent we were matched with.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
