Timothy Hovey, 27, was  <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/articles\/jblm-soldier-killed-gunshot-wounds-timothy-hovey\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Link: null\">killed on Sept. 4<\/a> after leaving a party in Burien, Washington, just south of Seattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hovey, of Sacramento, California, was taken by friends to a local hospital after they found him with wounds several blocks from the party around 4:30 a.m., according to a news release from  <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/depts\/sheriff\/news-media\/news\/2016\/September\/Shooting-leaves-one-man-dead.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Link: http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/depts\/sheriff\/news-media\/news\/2016\/September\/Shooting-leaves-one-man-dead.aspx\">the King County Sherriff&#8217;s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hovey, with C Battery, 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hovey enlisted in the Army in July 2010 as an air and missile defense crew member. He was scheduled to deploy to Iraq in October 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hovey wanted to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and great grandfather, both career military men, according to  <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/crime\/california-man-fatally-shot-after-leaving-burien-house-party\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Seattle Times<\/a>. He earned two Army Achievement Medals and two Army Good Conduct Medals, among other awards and decorations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the $10,000 offered by Hovey&#8217;s family, Crime Stoppers is offering an additional $1,000 for information that could help solve the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army has been assisting in the investigation as needed.
