Triston James Johnson, 23, of Houston, entered active duty service in October 2009 as a combat engineer, according to a news release from the post. He had been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since November 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johnson deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn from April 2010 to March 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johnson&#8217;s awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medals, Iraq Campaign medals with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johnson&#8217;s body was found at his home in Killeen, Killeen Police Department public affairs officer Carol Smith said. She declined to comment further on the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"
