The Times also reported that senior administration officials said Trump ultimately canceled the strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone,\u201d Trump said Friday. \u201cI am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting &amp; more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran had an opportunity to target manned aircraft, according to Press TV, a state-run news outlet in Iran. Joseph Guastella, commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/2019\/06\/20\/pentagon-issues-map-depicting-us-drone-shot-over-international-waters\/\">told reporters Thursday<\/a> that the drone was shot down as it was flying over the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz during a surveillance mission and fell into international waters. Reporters were provided a map of where the U.S. claims it was shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Iran claims the drone was flying over Iran, and the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said later that \u201cborders are our redline, and any enemy violating these borders will not go back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe downing of the US drone had an explicit, decisive and clear message that defenders of the Islamic Iran\u2019s borders will show decisive and knockout reactions to aggression against this territory by any alien,\u201d Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasnimnews.com\/en\/news\/2019\/06\/20\/2036794\/irgc-reveals-more-details-of-downing-us-drone\">according to Tasnim News Agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said Iran didn\u2019t want to instigate war with the U.S., but noted it was prepared to defend
