Defense lawmakers will be focused on the fiscal 2023 defense authorization bill for the next three weeks as both the House and Senate Armed Services Committees sort through thousands of proposals to include in the sweeping military policy measure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week, the House committee will announce parts of its legislative plan during six separate subcommittee markups on Wednesday and Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But big-ticket issues \u2014 such as the bill\u2019s total planned military spending \u2014 won\u2019t be unveiled until the full committee mark-up, scheduled for June 22. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In between, the Senate Armed Services Committee is scheduled to finalize its draft of the legislation.
