We find that military veterans and families share in that concept, embracing teammates (employees) and our patients,\u201d Caitlyn Shuket, a spokeswoman for the company, said in an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DaVita Inc. has hired more than 3,000 veterans since 2010 and aims to hire 400 more in the next year at its 2,400 kidney dialysis centers and business offices in the U.S. More than 500 veterans and some military spouses have already registered for the company\u2019s first National Veteran Interview Day on Tuesday, Sept. 19, Shuket said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eric Eversole, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation\u2019s program Hiring Our Heroes, had not heard of other companies hosting national interview days quite like the one at DaVita. But companies have gotten more creative in their recruitment of veterans in recent years, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCompanies are finding ways to be able to not only show that they\u2019re military-friendly, but they\u2019re military-ready,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd what that means from their perspective is they have recruiters there on the spot, they understand the unique skill sets and military talents that military veterans and military spouses bring and are actively looking for ways to get them into their workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A recent Hiring Our Heroes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uschamberfoundation.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Veterans%20in%20the%20Workplace_0.pdf\">study<\/a> of veterans in the workplace found veterans are among the top recruitment priorities for companies \u2014 coming in third after individuals with advanced degrees and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think it\u2019s reflective of how critical veteran and military spouse talent has become to American business,\u201d Eversole said. \u201cThis is not a charitable aspect. This is something where these companies understand that in a 21st century economic environment, these very talented people \u2014 veterans and military spouses \u2014 will help their bottom line from a business perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For DaVita\u2019s part, the company believes \u201chiring veterans is the right thing to do,\u201d Shuket said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veterans interested in an interview with DaVita Sept. 19 must <a href=\"https:\/\/app.brazenconnect.com\/a\/davitahiresvets\/e\/a0jl8#!eventLanding;eventCode=a0jl8\">register online<\/a>.
