Industry, can you meet this?&#8217; We want to take the transom down and have a conversation with industry and say: \u2018Here are some of the characteristics we\u2019re thinking about \u2014 what are your thoughts?&#8217; \u201d McPherson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c \u2018Here\u2019s the characteristics that we\u2019re looking for with regard to JADC2. Industry, how can you meet some of those characteristics? What other great ideas do you have, industry, to meet those characteristics? How do we turn those into requirements?&#8217; Then we turn that into a procurement document,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McPherson said earlier that morning that the top echelons of Army leadership met to hammer out some of those characteristics. He also said the Army is brainstorming how to include coalition partners in this new architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOne of the pieces that the chief brought up is, you know, we\u2019re going to have to add a letter in front of JADC2, and that\u2019s combined. We need to start doing that,\u201d McPherson said. \u201cWe need to start sharing, especially with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/global\/europe\/2018\/02\/05\/french-official-details-intelligence-sharing-relationship-with-five-eyes\/\" target=_blank>Five Eye[s] allies<\/a>, but others as well \u2026 what our concept of this battlefield of 2040 is going to look like and how we can partner with them in going forward with our data management and all things data in that future
