The Air Force\u2019s top intelligence official has been nominated to lead a newly reconfigured intelligence shop that now encompasses cyber efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Feb. 8 announcement, Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan said he nominated Lt. Gen. VeraLinn \u201cDash\u201d Jamieson to serve as Air Force\u2019s deputy chief of staff for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and cyber effects operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent months Air Force leaders decided to reorganize the service\u2019s intelligence and IT shops, shifting cyber effects responsibilities to Jameison\u2019s current role of deputy chief of staff for ISR and moving them out from the purview of the service\u2019s chief information officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
