Force awards emitter detection contract"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Southwest Research Institute has been awarded a $9.4 million Air Force contract to develop technology <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">to develop technology <\/span>that can detect and geolocate high-frequency emitters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first phase of the project, which has been completed, focused on accurately resolving &#8220;multiple angles-of-arrival and polarization states through novel antenna concepts; the ability to enhance signal-to-noise ratio and signal detection through the use of multi-dimensional adaptive signal processing; and the ability to accurately determine the dynamic state of the ionosphere,&#8221; according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current contract is for the second phase, which will include system integration of these innovations followed by a non-real-time field
