During a three-day test, the Air Force used Increment 2 to transmit and receive commands to missile defense satellites, according to a Lockheed Martin news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Increment 2 is on target to replace the legacy system by 2016 with significant performance improvements,&#8221; said David Sheridan, SBIRS program director for Lockheed Martin. &#8220;Consolidating operations into a centralized SBIRS ground system will enable warfighters to more efficiently monitor worldwide threats and alert responders for immediate
