The contracts were valued at $505.8 million, including options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Resource: <\/strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dodig.mil\/pubs\/report_summary.cfm?id=6549\" target=\"_blank\">Read the Report<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remaining contract, valued at $151 million, was found faulty &#8220;because the contracting officer inappropriately included equipment on a sole-source contract for the convenience of the customers,&#8221; according to the audit report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, DISA failed to properly summarize 12 of the 22 proposed contract actions, failing to follow the Federal Acquisition Regulation, according to the audit. &#8220;This occurred because DISA contracting personnel said they thought the correct exception was used, made mistakes when posting synopses, and could not find synopses or explain why they did not post synopses. As a result, for each of the proposed contract actions not properly synopsized, contracting personnel potentially excluded sources,&#8221; the audit report reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another 33 sole-source contracts that the IG examined, in a more limited way, to determine whether they were properly awarded under a valid statutory requirement, all
