The chatter has increased<\/span> as reports <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">continue to <\/span>surface about its <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">North Korea\u2019s <\/span>increas<span class=\"rte rte-comment\">e<\/span>ing <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">in <\/span>cyberattacks against South Korean targets.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historically North Korea\u2019s cyber capabilities have been underestimated by many.\u00a0<span class=\"rte rte-comment\">All of those g<\/span>General opinions changed when North Korea was found to be behind a series of cyberattacks against Sony Pictures Entertainment over the movie\u00a0&#8220;The Interview,&#8221; a political satire.\u00a0Since then, intelligence suggests that North Korea\u00a0has undertaken actions to further improve its\u00a0<span class=\"rte rte-comment\">cyberattack cyber\u00a0<\/span>capabilities. Recent analysis suggests that North Korean Bureau 121, their military&#8217;s cyberwarfare agency,\u00a0has grown to more than 6,000 sophisticated cyber warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">A recent report claims that North Korea said South Korea&#8217;s actions had brought the peninsula to the brink of war.\u00a0 Just recently, w<\/span>Warnings recently began to filter out from South Korea\u2019s intelligence community indicating\u00a0that North Korea is planning to launch terrorist attacks, and aggressive\u00a0cyberattack\u00a0campaigns are likely to accompany the acts of aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">There are also increasing concerns that<\/span>\u00a0But politicians such as Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner \u2014 who devoted a GOP weekly address to the topic \u2014 say that North Korea poses many threats to the U.S. One growing concern is whether North Korea has\u00a0\u2014 or will soon have \u2014 the ability to launch\u00a0an\u00a0intercontinental ballistic missile\u00a0<span class=\"rte rte-comment\">(ICBM) <\/span>with an electromagnetic pulse <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">(EMP) <\/span>weapon that could impact the western part of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">Talk on the street is one thing but that is being accompanied by <\/span><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">a recent GOP address by Colorado Sen.ator Cory Gardner.\u00a0\u00a0In addition, <\/span>In response,\u00a0President Barack Obama Feb. 18 signed into law the North Korea Sanctions and Policy Enhancement Act.
