air strikes against the Assad regime in Syria in retaliation for the Syrian government\u2019s alleged use of chemical weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The satellite imagery companies DigitalGlobe and Planet captured high-resolution images of the strikes, providing the public with a valuable glimpse at the critical information offered by satellites orbiting the globe. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what the aftermath of the strikes look like from space:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Barzah Research and Development Center<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first strike was aimed at Syria\u2019s Barzah military research and development center, where Pentagon officials said Syrians were producing and testing \u201cchemical and biological warfare technology.\u201d The images below show the three Brazah buildings before and after the coalition air strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p high-resolution commercial satellites: the WorldView-2 and the WorldView-3. After the coalition air strikes, the Pentagon described the area as \u201cnothing but rubble.\u201d <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The image compilation below is of the Barzah air strike location, captured by Planet\u2019s Dove satellites in a sun-synchronous orbit at 11:00 local time in Syria.<br><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-smg-jwplayer-video\"><atype-video-jwplayer nostick=\"true\" playlisturl=\"https:\/\/cdn.jwplayer.com\/v2\/playlists\/fCzRqMW8?tags=14f5902b-9cdb-40b8-908e-389f465f2f52\" poster=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/video-poster-14f5902b-9cdb-40b8-908e-389f465f2f52.png\" aspectratio=\"16 \/ 9\" mute autostart=\"false\"><\/atype-video-jwplayer><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Him Shinshar chemical weapons storage site and bunker<\/b><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Him Shinshar was the primary sight of Syrian sarin and precursor production equipment, Gen. Dunford said in the press conference at the Pentagon.
