Hayes was named CEO of the newly formed company, which is now called RTX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a Dec. 14 statement, the company described the leadership change as a \u201clong-planned transition,\u201d noting Calio was appointed chief operating officer in 2022 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/industry\/2023\/06\/20\/raytheon-rebrands-as-rtx\/\" target=\"_blank\">tasked with reorganizing RTX <\/a>from four business units into three: Pratt &amp; Whitney, Collins and Raytheon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday\u2019s announcement reflects the board\u2019s deliberate, disciplined succession planning process,\u201d Hayes said in a statement. \u201cChris has an understanding of the industry, our customers\u2019 needs and our operations. I have every confidence in his ability to lead RTX and drive the company\u2019s long-term success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leadership transition will occur at the company\u2019s annual shareowners meeting slated for May 2.
