How would you explain the game-changing, integrated capabilities of today\u2019s next-generation aircraft\u2014and what they\u2019ll be capable of in the future?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It starts with three core capabilities: speed, connectivity and intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Lockheed Martin, our global team has embraced the same sense of discovery as our founders to push limits and break barriers. Speed<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From hypersonic speed \u2013 the ability for a vehicle to travel five times faster than the speed of sound \u2013 to supersonic speed and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/quesst.html\">partnership with NASA on the X-59<\/a> to silence the sonic boom, we\u2019re opening the doors to new possibilities in both military and civil aviation by going fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, we\u2019re working to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/fvl\/\">revolutionize the future of vertical flight<\/a> by developing next-generation rotorcraft designed to exceed 230 knots, or approximately 265 miles per hour. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/x2-helicopter-technology-demonstrator.html\">transformational X2\u00ae technology<\/a> enables Sikorsky\u2019s \u201cspeed-where-it-matters\u201d approach and is designed to deliver significant improvements in maneuverability, survivability and scalability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">X2 underpins both of Sikorsky\u2019s offerings for the U.S. Army\u2019s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) programs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/fara-raider-x.html\">RAIDER X\u00ae is Sikorsky\u2019s solution for the Future Attack Reconnaissance (FARA) program<\/a>, designed to exceed 200 knots, or approximately 230 miles per hour, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/flraa-defiant-x.html\">DEFIANT X\u2122, the Sikorsky-Boeing offering for the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program<\/a>, is designed to exceed 230 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond aircraft speed, we\u2019re infusing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/news\/features\/2020\/investment-in-digital-design-reduces-risk-cost-increases-efficiency-for-future-vertical-lift-systems.html\">digital approaches<\/a> and disruptive innovation in our processes, technology and tools to drive faster deliveries, agile responsiveness and data-driven insights for our customers around the globe. Our 21st Century Warfare vision <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/transformation\/\">leverages technologies<\/a> like open systems architecture, artificial intelligence and machine learning to use data as a strategic asset in the joint battlespace and ensure mission success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One example of this is <a href=\"https:\/\/lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/sikorsky-matrix-technology.html\">Sikorsky\u2019s MATRIX\u2122 Technology<\/a> which will enable today\u2019s operators and future aviators to fly large aircraft reliably as autonomous or optionally piloted vehicles. MATRIX Technology is like a virtual second pilot that will help aviators identify threats and understand the environment they\u2019re operating in, making it possible for them to fly safely and confidently in dangerous and complex mission environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/f35\/news-and-features\/f35-the-most-advanced-node-in-the-21st-century-warfare.html\">F-35 sensor fusion connects systems across the battlespace<\/a>, providing vast amounts of information to accelerate decision making.
