Since 2023, more than 430 requests to repair, replace, or upgrade systems have been submitted by over 50 installations through IGSAs with Sourcewell, a local unit of government in the state of Minnesota. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These requests cover a range of facility needs, but most often focus on core systems that support daily living conditions and extend the life of existing facilities. The volume reflects a system-wide effort to address aging assets in environments where service members live and work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Infrastructure improvements, particularly in the systems that directly impact daily living conditions, represent a significant number of requests since the launch of the Military Support Program in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Task orders requested by the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Army Reserve include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requests also include upgrades to lighting, electrical systems, windows, and doors, along with interior improvements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Executing this work requires both speed and flexibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At one installation, five facility projects\u2014including a roof replacement, barracks renovation, chiller replacement, door upgrades, and chiller plant repair\u2014moved from site visit to purchase order in less than eight weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At another installation, the average time from scope development to proposal was approximately six weeks for non-complex projects. An estimated 30% cost savings were achieved, with seven of nine facility projects awarded through the established IGSA with Sourcewell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faster procurement timelines have enabled installations to complete more work within the same fiscal year, addressing issues before they could escalate into larger, more costly problems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing aging facilities is an active and ongoing priority. The volume and pace of this work show that non-traditional pathways play an important role alongside traditional procurement to address critical infrastructure needs within time and budget constraints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
