Gen. Timothy Haugh<\/a>, commander of the 16th Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), would replace Lt. Gen. Charles Moore. Moore has been the No. 2 at Cyber Command since late 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Haugh\u2019s nomination was disclosed April 26 alongside two others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He previously led the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/cyber\/2022\/04\/08\/cyber-mission-force-could-continue-growing-says-commander\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cyber National Mission Force<\/a>, which targets malicious cyber actors in defense of the U.S.. Haugh also served as the director for intelligence at CYBERCOM and was the deputy commander of Joint Task Force Ares, established to combat the Islamic State online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Haugh in 2019 said the U.S. was \u201cengaged in power competition with adversaries in all domains today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIntelligence is the fuel that commanders require to maneuver in response,\u201d Haugh said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/information-warfare\/2019\/09\/03\/air-force-intel-and-cyber-organization-gets-new-commander\/\" target=\"_blank\">previous reporting by C4ISRNET<\/a>. \u201cThe nation expects our enterprise to be global and agile, integrated into daily combat and reconnaissance operations, and capable of quickly maneuvering capabilities to focus on emerging threats.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three-star lieutenant general is considered a potential successor to Gen. Paul Nakasone,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/cyber\/2022\/04\/07\/us-cyber-command-reinforces-ukraine-and-allies-amid-russian-onslaught\/\" target=\"_blank\"> commander<\/a> of CYBERCOM and the director of the National Security Agency.
