{"id":26540,"date":"2015-03-16T15:30:44","date_gmt":"2015-03-16T15:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/defensenews\/uncategorized\/2015\/03\/16\/cae-aviation-offers-isr-services-to-nigeria\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T22:20:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T22:20:21","slug":"cae-aviation-offers-isr-services-to-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/defensenews\/training-sim\/2015\/03\/16\/cae-aviation-offers-isr-services-to-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"CAE Aviation Offers ISR Services to Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GABORONE, Botswana \u2014 CAE Aviation has offered to provide the Nigerian Air Force with full turnkey airborne ground surveillance and reconnaissance services and to aid maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaisance (ISR) operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><i>[EDITOR&#8217;S NOTE: This story was updated to reflect the correct name of the company.]<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The company&#8217;s offer to the Nigerian military <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">top brass <\/span>was tabled by CAE Aviation Managing Director Luc Audoore during a recent symposium, <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">which was <\/span>held in Abuja to assess ways of boosting the country&#8217;s ISR capabilities, called <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">under the theme: <\/span>&#8220;Nigerian Defence Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Capability Upgrade Program.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audoore said the Air Force <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">NAF <\/span>stands to benefit from CAE Aviation&#8217;s customized air support operations, which include airborne ground surveillance, <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">AGSR services, <\/span>training of crews, maintenance and <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">mechanical or <\/span>technical modifications to existing aircraft. <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">He said the package offers certified aircraft with crew for gravimetry, bathymetry, magnetometry and other survey operations capability.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said all CAE Aviation aircraft can be adapted to the customer&#8217;s <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">specific <\/span>needs in terms of survey equipment, endurance, communication and modifications, which may include the installation of systems to support the operation of imagery software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audoore<span class=\"rte rte-comment\">The MD<\/span> said <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">apart from AGSR, <\/span>CAE Aviation also can <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">also <\/span>provide <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">the Nigeria with <\/span>specialized aerial survey operations and military para-dropping. <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">and L-3 Wescam <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">Official<\/span> Distribution, Integration and Service Center services.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These capabilities could <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">AGSR component can <\/span>help <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">the <\/span>Nigerian maritime authorities with <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">to<\/span><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">effectively <\/span><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">carry out effective <\/span>border control, maritime survey, pollution control, anti piracy, fire detection and monitoring, internal security and anti-smuggling operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nigerian Army chief of training and operations, <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">a <\/span>Maj. Gen. Bonna Awala, urged CAE Aviation to <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">the<\/span> continue consultations with the <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">Nigerian <\/span>Air Force as there are many potential areas of <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">mutual <\/span>cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">The Nigerian Air Force has operational but limited operations collaborations with Caveron Helicopters. <\/span>Since 2010, Nigeria has embarked on a program to revive its aerial defense capabilities.
