ANKARA, Turkey\u00a0\u2014 Turkey’s procurement and military officials said they expect the first deliveries of the CH-47F heavy transport helicopters soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One procurement official said that <\/span>the platform made its maiden flight recently at Boeing\u2019s Philadelphia facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “After further test flights\u00a0we’ll start receiving the first CH-47Fs, which should be later this year,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A military official confirmed that <\/span>the helicopters, also known as the “Chinook,” would be part of the army\u2019s operational planning later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He aid the first five deliveries will go to the army and the sixth to the Turkish General Staff command.
