The original movie was about Navy Top Gun aviators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Air Force, however, gently reminded Cruise that if he truly felt the need for speed \u2014 a famous line from the movie \u2014he should try flying an Air Force F-15E &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230; to which the Navy took exception:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\" data-lang=\"en\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/usairforce?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@usairforce<\/a> Remember, boys, no points for second place. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/flynavy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@flynavy<\/a><\/p>&mdash; U.S. Navy (@USNavy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USNavy\/status\/1002215213905731584?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2018<\/a><\/blockquote>\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh, we know that the original \u201cTop Gun\u201d wasn\u2019t exactly &#8230; accurate, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wearethemighty.com\/articles\/79-cringe-worthy-technical-errors-in-the-movie-top-gun\" title=\"\" class=\"selected-link\">We Are the Mighty pointed out in exhaustive detail back in 2015. <\/a>In fact, Defense News reporter Valerie Insinna had some ideas of how to make the new movie better:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do you think?
