The agency also establishes geospatial intelligence, or GEOINT, requirements for the National Reconnaissance Office, which then collects the imagery from government satellites and commercial providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The director\u2019s newest document, the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nga.mil\/news\/New_strategy_calls_on_Geospatial_Intelligence_Comm.html\" target=\"_blank\">National System for Geospatial Intelligence Enterprise Commercial GEOINT Strategy 2021-2025<\/a>,\u201d encourages the intelligence community to leverage more commercial solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy taking a community approach to commercial GEOINT \u2014 one that aligns with our overarching NSG strategic goals, we continue to pave a way forward that not only benefits and supports our global national security needs but expands our partnerships within the growing sector of commercial GEOINT \u2014 giving access to responsive and innovative tools and capabilities that will help us meet the challenges of the 21st century and beyond,\u201d NGA Director Vice Adm. Robert Sharp said in a Nov. 5 statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strategy outlines a number of initiatives that fall into four broad categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Drive unity of effort.<\/li><li>Diversify sources and build capacity through partnerships.<\/li><li>Improve data security and develop processes to mitigate risks.<\/li><li>Influence and foster commercial capabilities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement comes shortly after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/intel-geoint\/2021\/10\/06\/national-geospatial-intelligence-agency-boss-reveals-data-strategy\/\">the NGA released its new data strategy<\/a>, intended to guide
