WASHINGTON \u2014 America\u2019s next nuclear weapons czar<\/a>, the Pentagon\u2019s management chief and its chief innovation officer were among eight Trump national security nominees the Senate confirmed late Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lisa Gordon-Hagerty<\/a> was confirmed as the undersecretary for nuclear security at the Department of Energy, the top job for managing America\u2019s arsenal of nuclear warheads. Previously on the National Security Council, Gordon-Hagerty replaces Frank Klotz<\/a>, the retired Air Force general who has been in the job since 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Gibson<\/a> was confirmed as the Pentagon\u2019s chief management officer, a relatively new top position. He\u2019s the deputy chief management officer and previously served as president and CEO of XCOR Aerospace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Griffin<\/a> was confirmed as the Pentagon\u2019s undersecretary of research and engineering, essentially acting as DoD\u2019s chief innovation officer, another new position. He is a former NASA administrator and it\u2019s been speculated he could be tapped to head the military\u2019s space programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
