(Bell)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MV-75 will be slightly smaller than the Osprey, but will be able to carry 14 troops. It was built completely from scratch to fulfill the Army\u2019s unique needs, Stripes reported. The aircraft\u2019s design includes an all-digital platform that allows the Army to adapt to enemy capabilities courtesy of software and hardware that can be quickly modified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 101st Airborne Division was selected in March 2025 as the first unit to receive the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft, meant to replace the Black Hawk utility helicopters, because of the division\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2025\/05\/14\/heres-whos-getting-the-armys-first-long-range-assault-aircraft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2025\/05\/14\/heres-whos-getting-the-armys-first-long-range-assault-aircraft\/\">\u201cmission profile and theater demands.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe 101st flies into real world contested environments, across wide terrain, often without the luxury of fixed support infrastructure,\u201d Army Gen. James Mingus said previously of the decision. \u201cThey need speed, endurance and reliability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MV-75 has a cruise speed of 320 miles per hour, compared to the Black Hawk\u2019s speed of around 183 miles per hour, with an unfueled range of 920 miles. The Black Hawk\u2019s range is approximately 367 miles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Army Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/newsletters\/2026\/01\/13\/army-to-field-bell-mv-75-aircraft-this-year-integrate-more-drones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/newsletters\/2026\/01\/13\/army-to-field-bell-mv-75-aircraft-this-year-integrate-more-drones\/\">announced<\/a> earlier this month that the service will begin training on MV-75 prototypes as early as this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aircraft was previously slated for delivery between 2031 and 2032, but George announced during the town hall that production has been accelerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe said, \u2018No, we need it very quickly,\u2019\u201d George said at a townhall meeting. \u201cAt
