Those are going to start delivery end of November, December timeframe,\u201d David Kenneweg, Lockheed\u2019s program director for multi-mission air defense radars, told reporters during a Nov. 2 tour of the company\u2019s facility in Syracuse, New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initial operational test and evaluation \u2014 meant to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/battlefield-tech\/2023\/02\/22\/us-army-jam-resistant-navigation-kit-for-vehicles-passes-pentagon-test\/\" target=\"_blank\">gauge effectiveness and flaws of new technologies<\/a> \u2014 is expected in the first half of fiscal 2025. Matt Paul, &quot;but it was not built for how we have to share data in the future.&quot;<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army signed off on Sentinel A4 low-rate initial production this year. The service\u2019s program executive officer for missiles and space, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2023\/08\/23\/us-army-approves-sentinel-a4-air-defense-radar-for-low-rate-production\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maj. Gen. Frank Lozano<\/a>, at the time told Defense News that \u201ca really high-quality radar\u201d was needed for successful interceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sentinel A4 is slated to replace the older Sentinel A3 made by RTX. It will plug into the Army\u2019s Integrated Battle Command System, or IBCS, a key piece in the puzzle that is the Pentagon\u2019s Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control endeavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CJADC2, as it\u2019s known, envisions once-disparate forces and databases across land, air, sea, space and cyber <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/battlefield-tech\/c2-comms\/2023\/08\/31\/why-jadc2-needs-yet-another-c-according-to-pentagon-officials\/\" target=\"_blank\">seamlessly linked<\/a>. Achieving that state, defense officials say, will allow the U.S. military to outthink and outshoot tech-savvy adversaries such as China and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere\u2019s a heavy focus on any sensor, any shooter,\u201d Chandra Marshall, Lockheed\u2019s vice president for radar and sensor systems, told reporters. \u201cThe ability of our radars to interface with any combat system is the foundation for our design, to make it easy and to make our track quality good enough so that we can provide it to any combat system and be that conduit to make decisions, from a firepower perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lockheed is the world\u2019s largest defense contractor when ranked by defense-related revenue, raking in roughly $63.3 billion in 2022, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/top-100\/\" target=\"_blank\">Defense News analysis<\/a>.
