The office was established in 2021 to expedite the defense world\u2019s embrace of AI and best-in-class data practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis resource demonstrates to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/opinion\/commentary\/2023\/05\/15\/the-defense-department-is-finally-getting-workforce-development-right\/\" target=\"_blank\">the DoD workforce<\/a> how they fit into the future of these advancements and further enables their adoption throughout the department,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Results of a previous pilot show a vast majority of participants found the teachings relevant. It was juggling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/artificial-intelligence\/2023\/11\/02\/pentagon-debuts-new-data-and-ai-strategy-after-biden-executive-order\/\">more than 685 AI-related projects<\/a> as of 2021, according to the Government Accountability Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Widespread understanding of the technology \u2014 its strengths, weaknesses and blindspots \u2014 is critical to its successful application. When it comes to AI and emerging technologies, it is really important that their employees are all speaking the same language,\u201d Kathleen Kennedy, the senior director of <a href=\"https:\/\/horizon.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">MIT Horizon<\/a> and executive director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, said in a statement. \u201cWe are excited to collaborate
